Hi! my name is Laci Sandvil and I’m a sophomore at Danville. For my Compass projects all semester I’ve been working all about and around sharks. For my fourth and final product this semester I wanted to raise some awareness about sharks and the ocean. I learned how to make really good PSAs and that’s what I’m going to be talking about. When I first decided I wanted to make PSAs I didn’t really have a lot of knowledge of how I was going to do that. So I found a really good website with 8 really easy to follow steps and the end result was two very good PSAs that I’m proud of and happy to be able to share out into the community. Here are the 8 steps
I wrote a couple out that I recorded and played back that just didn’t hit all the things I was looking for so I had a re-do both of them a couple of times. I finally found the right scripts and was able to record them and be very happy with the finished product. The biggest thing that the site I found helped me with was how it talked about making sure you were directing what you were saying towards the correct audience. It made it easy to know how to word things and how to get my message across. The one thing that it said that I didn’t listen too as much as I should have was the time limits, I packed them full of information and they were decently long. I like the way they turned out I’m just hoping that the length doesn’t turn listeners off from listening to the whole thing. At the end of the day, I’m very happy with the PSAs I made and I hope they are able to raise the awareness that I wanted them too.
